Wat is die stand van SA se wolbedryf? - Op en WakkerDie onlangse Karoo Winterwolfees is by Middelburg in die Oos-Kaap gehou, en het die kollig weer op die vagte wit goud uit dié streek laat val. Robert Gordon, ‘n Nederlander van Skotse afkoms, wat vir die Verenigde Oos-Indiese Kompanjie gewerk het, het reeds in 1789 die eerste merinoskape na Suid-Afrika gebring. Die wolbedryf is die afgelope jaar of twee deur ernstige uitdagings in die gesig gestaar.
